Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two, spoiler free, “teaser” sentences
  • Share the title & author
“More than once did Elizabeth, in her ramble within the park, unexpectedly meet Mr. Darcy. She felt all the perverseness of the mischance that should bring him where no one else was brought, and, to prevent its ever happening again, took care to inform him at first that it was a favourite haunt of hers. How it could occur a second time, therefore, was very odd!” (p.167, eBook).
From Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

  1. Very odd, indeed! I don’t know how I can call myself a book reviewer when I’ve never read Jane Austen, but there it is. One of these days I’ll get around to her! My teaser is from REBIRTH by Sophie Littlefield.

  2. This is the second Jane Austin teaser I’ve come across this week! I’m almost ashamed that I haven’t read anything by her yet! I do have a few books on my shelf though, so I just need to get to it. Great teaser. 🙂

My teaser is from a book I absolutely loved; Divergent! Click to be teased!

  3. I’m actually in your Women’s Lit class and LOVE your blog! (I blog too, but not at all about the same thing really haha). Just wanted to say I have been loooooove love loving reading Pride & Prejudice… I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to get to it. Thanks for sharing, maybe next week I will share a Teaser Tuesday too!!!

    1. Hi there Kate! Thanks for commenting! I’m glad you are enjoying the blog and Pride & Prejudice. I read it for the women’s studies class that got me interested in chick lit and enjoy Austen’s style and how it has influenced so much after her.
